Tourbillion Up For Grabs at Maddaloni Jewelers

Extremely Rare Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillion Up For Grabs at Maddaloni Jewelers

What bigger word can you think of than the word jaw-dropping? Amazing, remarkable, mind-blowing, astonishing, absolutely incredible. These adjectives describe what it feels like when you come across a masterpiece. And yes, it is a Limited Edition with only 99 pieces made in Platinum.

What is it? It’s Ulysse Nardin’s Royal Blue Tourbillon Watch. Flying Tourbillon, as they call it, mysteriously seems like the tourbillon is floating in the watch. As described directly from the manufacturer, “It is the first sapphire watch with a 'flying' tourbillon, meaning that the tourbillon cage is attached to the movement only on one point on its rear, while the axis is turning freely, without any support on the front.”  Out of the 99 pieces in the world this is number 21. Price tag? $310,000.

Let’s talk for a minute about the sapphire bridges. The “Royal Blue” allows its sapphire parts to appear in a beautiful shining blue…looking transparent. Seemingly magical, the front cover, which is the tourbillon cag, is also made of synthetic sapphire. Beautifully marrying shape and depth to the design, the inside bezel is set with 200 diamonds and 12 blue sapphires (approximately 3.2 ct). The twelve sapphires serve as hour markers. This sophisticated watch boasts a diameter of 41mm with a platinum 950 case. The caliber is 12¼" UN-79. 36 jewels and is 30 meters water-resistant. The Blue Alligator strap complements it beautifully.

Undoubtedly, the movement is extraordinary. Admirably, the actual watch itself comes across very classy. The design team that cleverly designed the Royal Blue Tourbillon designed it to look like a relatively ordinary watch, but there is nothing ordinary about it or the lucky gentleman who owns one. A watch of this caliber is only fit for a person with superior taste for the finer things in life and demands excellence. A showy watch that reeks success with tasteful “glam.”
