Tod’s Debuts Its Latest Luxury Moccasins

Tod’s has launched the latest version of its celebrated Gommino men’s moccasin. The new Tod’s Gommino Club features the line’s trademark sole, which is composed of 133 rubber pebbles or gommini, but it is distinguished from its predecessors by its level of customization, with more than 100,000 possible combinations. Each order of the Italian accessory maker’s new offering begins with a personalization kit that allows customers to choose from nine shades of suede—from burnt brown to navy blue—and six different colored swatches of the brand’s array of leathers.

The classic footwear, which takes design inspiration from the driving shoes of the 1950s, also features Tod’s signature braided leather laces, which are available in 20 schemes of one, two, or three colors. Each custom-made shoe—which may be imprinted with the customer’s initials—is handcrafted in Italy from up to 35 separate pieces in a process that comprises over 100 steps. The shoes arrive to the customer within two months of ordering. The made-to-order Gommino Club moccasins are priced at $645 and are available through Tod’s boutiques around the world.
